Paul Corto
Founder and Managing Partner
Paul Corto is the Founder and Managing Partner of Spiders Lacrosse and one of the most respected and accomplished coaches in Ohio high school lacrosse. With decades of experience developing elite players and building championship programs, Corto has helped guide hundreds of athletes to success at the collegiate level.
Corto currently serves as an Assistant Coach at Saint Ignatius High School and will lead the New Balance All-American Midwest 2026 team as head coach. He also spent the 2023–2024 season as an Assistant Coach at Western Reserve Academy. Prior to that, he built one of the most successful programs in Ohio at Chagrin Falls High School, where his teams reached ten straight regional finals, six state semifinals, five state championship games, and captured two Ohio Division II State Championships.
Throughout his career, Corto has coached 13 US Lacrosse All-Americans, 15 US Lacrosse Academic All-Americans, 53 All-State players, and more than 100 All-Region selections. His accomplishments have also earned him multiple coaching honors including OHSAA Region Coach of the Year and News Herald Coach of the Year.
In addition to his work in lacrosse, Corto is an accomplished business leader and entrepreneur, currently serving as President and Partner at Market Garden Brewery in Cleveland. He played collegiately at Ohio Wesleyan University after graduating from Loyola Blakefield, one of the nation’s premier high school lacrosse programs.
Kyle Bernlohr
Director of Player Development
Kyle Bernlohr is one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in modern lacrosse and a respected leader in the development of elite defensive players. A standout at the University of Maryland from 2012–2016, Bernlohr established himself as one of the top goalies in the country, earning the 2015 Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Award as the nation’s most outstanding goalkeeper. During his career at Maryland, he was named First Team All-America and First Team All–Big Ten in 2015, Second Team All-America and First Team All–Big Ten in 2016, and served as a team captain while being twice nominated for the Tewaaraton Award.
Bernlohr went on to enjoy a decorated professional career, becoming a six-time professional All-Star and three-time champion. He won the 2017 MLL Championship with the Ohio Machine and back-to-back PLL Championships with the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club in 2019 and 2020. Throughout his professional career, he led the league in save percentage three times and was recognized with the Oren Lyons PLL Goalie of the Year Award.
Following his playing career, Bernlohr transitioned into coaching and player development. He began coaching at the NCAA Division I level with Cleveland State University from 2016–2018 before serving as defensive coordinator at Bellarmine University from 2018–2020. He currently serves as Head Coach at Saint Ignatius High School and is the founder of the Kyle Bernlohr Goalie Academy, where he works with goalkeepers from across the region. Through his work with Spiders Lacrosse, Bernlohr continues to mentor and develop the next generation of elite goalkeepers.
Luke Schroedl
Marketing Director
Luke Schroedl is the founder of LucasCreativeLLC and serves as Director of Marketing for Spiders Lacrosse Club and the Midwest Lacrosse Showcase. Through his creative agency, Schroedl has become one of the leading lacrosse media producers in the Midwest, specializing in storytelling, highlight production, and digital brand development for elite programs and athletes.
A former collegiate lacrosse player at Baldwin Wallace University, Schroedl brings a player’s perspective to his work behind the camera. His understanding of the game allows him to capture the speed, emotion, and competitive moments that resonate with athletes, coaches, and college recruiters.
Schroedl has worked with numerous high school, club, and collegiate programs throughout the region, helping elevate their recruiting presence and digital platforms through professional media coverage. His work has also extended into professional sports environments, including content production within the Cleveland Cavaliers organization.
Through his role with Spiders Lacrosse and the Midwest Lacrosse Showcase, Schroedl oversees digital strategy, brand development, and media production, helping showcase athletes and programs across the Midwest while continuing to push the standard for lacrosse media and recruiting exposure.
Chris Gellin
Director of Player Devolpment
Chris Gellin serves as a Director for Spiders Lacrosse and brings decades of coaching experience and championship pedigree to the program. Now in his fourth year with Spiders, Gellin works with players and coaches throughout the club while helping support player development and competitive preparation across multiple teams.
Gellin currently serves as an Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Chagrin Falls High School, where he has been part of one of Ohio’s most successful high school lacrosse programs. During his time with Chagrin Falls, the program has reached multiple state championship games, including Division II State Championships appearances in 2014, 2015, and 2022 on the boys side, highlighted by the 2015 Division II State Championship. Gellin has also contributed to the success of the Chagrin Falls girls program, helping guide the team to Division II State Runner-Up finishes in 2018 and 2019.
In addition to his work at Chagrin Falls, Gellin previously coached at University School as an assistant and defensive coordinator, helping the program build competitive teams at the highest level of Ohio high school lacrosse. He also served as Head Coach of the Chagrin Falls girls program in 2018 and 2019 and was named Coach of the Year in 2018.
Gellin played collegiately as a defenseman at Regis University and was part of the 1999 Division II State Championship team at University School during his high school career.
Brandon Schwind
College Recruiting Director
Brandon Schwind serves as College Recruiting Director for Spiders Lacrosse, helping guide athletes and families through the collegiate recruiting process while supporting player development across the program. Now entering his fourth year with Spiders, Schwind works closely with the club’s leadership team and coaching staff to help position players for opportunities at the next level.
Schwind also serves as Head Coach at Hudson High School, where the 2026 season will mark his 16th year coaching and eighth as head coach. During his tenure, his teams have compiled a 162–58 overall record while consistently competing among the top programs in the region. Under his leadership, Hudson has produced 49 First Team All-Conference players, 16 First Team All-State selections, and 11 US Lacrosse High School All-Americans.
His teams have captured five conference championships and five regional championships, while Schwind has earned five Conference Coach of the Year honors. In 2022, he was named both Ohio Region Two Coach of the Year and USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
Schwind played collegiately at Wittenberg University, where he was a four-year starter and three-time NCAC All-Conference selection. He was named the team’s Defensive MVP in 2006 and served as team captain during his senior season. He also holds an MBA in Business Leadership from Youngstown State University.
Janelle Ranieri
Chief Administrative Officer
Janelle Ranieri serves as Chief Administrative Officer for Spiders Lacrosse, overseeing the operational leadership and administrative structure that support the club’s players, families, and coaching staff. In her role, Ranieri manages program logistics, communication, scheduling, and events while helping ensure a consistent and organized experience across all levels of the Spiders Lacrosse program.
Ranieri works closely with the club’s leadership team to coordinate tournaments, team operations, and day-to-day organizational efforts that allow the coaching staff to focus on player development and competition. Her attention to detail and commitment to building a well-run program have made her an integral part of the Spiders Lacrosse community.
Outside of lacrosse, Ranieri brings extensive professional experience in operations, marketing, and executive administration. She previously served as an executive assistant with Superior Beverage Group and has held leadership roles in sales, marketing, and product management with organizations including The Attention Center, AirTouch, and Revlon. She also served as President of the Chagrin Falls PTO and as a board member for The Attention Center.
Ranieri earned her MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and brings a strong background in leadership, organization, and program management to her role with Spiders Lacrosse.
